Have you ever been on a boat out at sea, rocking with the waves? The journey can be bumpy and you might feel sick or scared. Life often feels the same. It’s not always smooth sailing. Storms come. Waves crash. And we get afraid. But God gives us a better way to navigate: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Another anchor for the soul is this – fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). In the Gospels, the disciples panic as the storm rages, yet Jesus is in the boat with them. The wind is real. The danger is real. Their fear is understandable. But what changes everything is not the absence of the storm, but the presence of Jesus. When He speaks, the waves obey. When He is near, panic loses its grip. With Jesus in your boat, you don’t have to fear the waves. Faith doesn’t deny the storm, it refuses to let the storm be in charge. (Pierre B).
