Masterpiece in progress

As I sat in our Airbnb, a beautiful but neglected home with so much potential, I found myself imagining all the ways it could be restored into something spectacular. Then a gentle thought came: isn’t this how our Heavenly Father sees us? Isaiah 64:8 reminds us, “You, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, You are the potter; we are all the work of Your hand.” God sees not only who we are but who we can become in His hands. Yet often, instead of letting Him shape and form us, we harden ourselves, choosing our own way, becoming brittle, even breaking under the weight of life. But Scripture promises something better. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10). Consider how malleable you are in God’s hands. Let your heart soften. Trust the hands that formed you. You are God’s masterpiece in progress. When we yield to Him, His restoration brings out the beauty, purpose, and blessing we were created to carry, so our lives can bring joy to others and honour to His name.
