The number 8 represents life and immortality. There are 7 days in a week, but 8 is the first day of a new week, signifying the time beyond. A Jewish boy is circumcised on the eighth day, representing the cutting off of flesh—mortality—and the new life beyond. Jesus is the ultimate example of new life: “I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly” (John 10:10). He rose on Sunday, the 8th day, bringing eternal life. It’s no surprise that “Jesus” in Greek has the numerical value of 888—three eights, meaning certain and complete. He is complete life, eternal life. Inspired by this, my son-in-law and I decided to do a “Jesus Run.” We ran 4.44 km, turned around, and ended with an 8.88 km run. Later, running it again with my wife, she noticed something we missed—at the exact turning point, not a meter more or less, there was a nail in the road with a red circle around it. The synchronicity was amazing. Our turning point to God and eternal life is found in the sacrifice of Jesus—the red nail. Our God of details is always speaking. Let’s open our eyes to see and hear. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh10v10 (Craig B)
