This is one of the scariest things I’ve read. The prophet Ezekiel is taken in a vision by God to witness the terrible things His people are doing in Jerusalem. He shows them worshipping idols in the city. Then worse—in the temple gate, people weeping for an idol god. But it gets even worse. “I dug into the wall and found a hidden doorway…I saw the various idols worshiped by the people of Israel” (Ezekiel 8:7–11). Inside God’s temple, in a hidden room, idols are being worshipped. God says, “I will respond in fury. I will neither pity nor spare them” (v18). We may dismiss this as irrelevant to us. But what is an idol? It’s what you turn to when you’re down, what you focus on, what you love. Picture the vision today. God looks at His people—seated in church or during quiet time with Him. Yet in the midst of this holy space, we secretly scroll social media, seeking joy, comfort, even identity there. Worshipping. It sounds extreme—but is it? Do we put other “gods” before God? Do we think He doesn’t notice? Let’s consider carefully what we worship. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Eze8v7-11 (Craig B)
