Unchanging

Unchanging

I recently saw a photo of our dog from about seven years ago. The dog looked exactly the same. In fact, the family wouldn’t know if the photo was taken today or years ago. However, in the same photo is a child who has now grown into a young man, looking totally different. It struck me how dogs are unchanging, both in appearance and behaviour. Our dogs are always our “pups,” always responding with the same joy at seeing us or going for a walk. While we change physically, how consistent are we in our good traits and behaviours? Do we always show joy at seeing friends and family? Are we consistent in our faith? We should, in God’s strength, seek to “no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves… Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ” (Ephesians 4:14-15). Let Jesus be your consistency in a world of change. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Heb13v8, http://bit.ly/Eph4v14-15
