A few years ago, I ran a marathon where the water stations ran dry. With the sun beating down and my body fatigued, one thing became undeniable: the desperate craving for water overtook everything else. Thirst is such a basic instinct—without water, there’s no continuing. David understood this kind of need when he wrote, “My soul thirsts for You in a dry and thirsty land” (Psalm 63:1). David’s longing for God had become as essential as water—his soul couldn’t continue without the life-giving refreshment of God’s presence. He also declared, “You are my God. Early will I seek You” (Psalm 63:1). His first waking thought was to connect with God. As this year unfolds, may we develop the same instinct. Let our first thought each morning be to seek the living waters found only in God. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/psa63v1 (Matthew B)
