Seek His face

Seek His face

During a recent conversation with a friend, he shared an interesting perspective on how we usually seek God versus how we should be seeking Him. His analogy was simple: “Seek His face, not His hand.” So often we seek God’s hand, His helping hand of support when times are tough. We focus on what God can give or do for us and end up so fixated on His hand that we forget to seek His face. By doing this, our hierarchy of aim becomes misaligned. We place what He can do above genuine relationship with Him. Let us instead seek right relationship with God by intentionally seeking His face and getting to know Him personally. When our aim is properly aligned and we seek Him genuinely above all else, we don’t need to worry about life’s troubles: “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:33–34). (Jeremy G) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/mat6v33
