What’s in store for you?

“Do you know what’s in store for you?” This can be a scary or exciting question depending on the situation. Well, how would you feel if someone said, “I have success in store for you”? While this promise might be made by many people, there is only one who can truly promise success in the true meaning of it – success that brings joy and peace and love. “The LORD holds success in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones” (Proverbs 2:7-8). What an incredible promise from God. However, to qualify for this, we need to be righteous, and that’s a problem because “There is no one righteous, not even one” (Romans 3:10). So how do we qualify for this amazing promise of success? The answer is “Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption” (1 Corinthians 1:30). While we can’t be righteous, Jesus offers to cover us with his righteousness and thereby qualify us for this amazing offer of success that God has in store for the upright.
