One of the things many South Africans have had to live with is loadshedding – intentional power cuts to prevent grid failure. And on top of that, there are always the bonus unplanned outages. So many turned to solar power. Since installing our own solar system, we barely notice when the power is out. Sometimes I’ll see messages on the community WhatsApp group asking when the electricity will be back, and I realise with joy, I didn’t even know it was gone. In life, we can make the same switch. Many people draw energy from others, success, social media, or entertainment – but all of these are unreliable. They go dark. And when they do, we often feel like we’re in darkness too. But when we draw our identity and energy from the Son, everything changes. Jesus said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12). He is always shining, always present, always filling us with life. “The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” (John 1:4–5). Choose the Son’s power for your life. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh8v12, https://bit.ly/Joh1v4-5
