Only lasting treasure

Only lasting treasure

Over the past five years, I’ve lived in six different homes. Moving so often really puts possessions into perspective. It reminds you that, in this life, we can never truly own anything. Even if you buy a home, one day you might sell it, or it might be passed down to the next generation, and they might sell it. The point is that everything we own in this world is temporary. None of it is eternal. Yet we live in a world that constantly encourages us to work more so we can buy more and more. But God is the only one who can offer us gifts far more valuable than anything we could ever buy. He offers the gift of eternity. We read in 1 Timothy 6:7, “For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.” So instead of focusing our lives on what we can accumulate, we should focus on what truly lasts, our relationship with God, and the gift he promises us one day, eternal life with him. That is the only treasure that will last forever. (Hannah Hardy) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/1Ti6v7
