“Number 47 to counter 3”. “Please give me your ID number.” We live in a world where we have become numbers. In a world with so many billions of people, it’s the only way to keep track of things. Reduce everyone to numbers. And ultimately, we end as a number. “Male, aged 86, deceased”. Yet what of all the memories, the relationships, the character of the person? That is found in our name. The world will number, categorise, and forget. But, for those who commit to God, we remain a name, a person, a loved one – forever. “Then those who feared the LORD spoke with each other, and the LORD listened to what they said. In his presence, a scroll of remembrance was written to record the names of those who feared him and always thought about the honour of his name.” (Malachi 3:16). And as Jesus said, this is something we truly rejoice in – “rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Luke 10:20). Jesus will return soon, and for those who have loved his name, alive or dead, he will call them by their name to be with him, forever. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Luk10v20, https://bit.ly/mal3v16
