The most ordinary moments

There are a lot of big decisions we have to make in our lives, like what career am I going to pursue, who am I going to marry, or where am I going to live. We often think of these as the primary decisions that direct where we go in life, which, to some extent, is undoubtedly true. But then, we can too often think that our big choices are the only things that determine our future. But the fact is that life is full of ordinary moments and small decisions that have even more significant impacts, like whether you are going to read the Bible before you go to bed or is Netflix easier? Whether you go out and exercise, make plans with friends, or is scrolling social media the choice? In Isaiah 30:21 it says, “Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, ‘This is the way; walk in it.’” Whatever the decision, let God direct you. Not just the big ones, because some of the most important decisions you make happen in the most ordinary moments, and it’s only God who really knows the difference.
