No more sting

No more sting

It’s the most stunning green field you could ever imagine. Europe’s highest pasture. The air is crisp, snow still clings to nearby peaks, and we walk through soft grass soaking up the tranquility. Suddenly, “Ow!” A sting shoots through my leg. I’ve brushed past stinging nettles. The pain lingers and distracts from the beauty. Sadly, this is part of the original curse. After Adam and Eve sinned, God said, “Cursed is the ground because of you…It will produce thorns and thistles for you” (Genesis 3:17-18). The sting isn’t just from nettles but from all the painful thorns we encounter, grief, struggle, loss. Yet God promises this will not last forever. There will come a time when beauty won’t be marred by pain, when awe won’t be interrupted by suffering. Even death, the greatest sting of all, will be gone. “O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). And ultimately, “There will no longer be any curse” (Revelation 22:3). The thorns will fade, and joy will remain. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Gen3v17-18, https://bit.ly/1Co15v55, https://bit.ly/Rev22v3 (Craig B)
