The Christ lens

The Christ lens

“Should I start writing Gospel Bites?” was the question I wrestled with. “Where will I get the inspiration? I don’t travel enough to write adventure lessons, and I haven’t studied the Bible enough to share Biblical themes.” I limited myself based on my perceptions. A few months and several Gospel Bites later, and my perspective has changed. By intentionally viewing the world through the Gospel lens to find new topics, I have begun to see God’s lessons in the ordinary. It’s like viewing the world with a new pair of glasses. I reflect on how naive I was to withhold sharing God’s message due to my self-imposed limits. Jesus turned fishermen into fishers of men and a tax collector into a gospel writer. Who are we to limit what God can work in us and what works we can do through Him? I encourage you to let God’s light shine through you so that you can be a lamp to our world. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16).
