Like little children – Instinct

Recently I learned from my daughter, after the birth of her son, about something called breast crawl. Every newborn, when placed skin to skin on the mother’s abdomen soon after birth, will manoeuvre on its own to the mother’s breast and take its first feed. That’s astounding—the instinct in a helpless newborn to move by itself to find food and connection with its mother. It’s the same divine instinct that is in each of us—the deep innate desire to connect to God as our source of sustenance and comfort. “You brought me safely from my mother’s womb and led me to trust you at my mother’s breast. I was thrust into your arms at my birth. You have been my God from the moment I was born” (Psalms 22:9-10). Yet, it’s an instinct we can choose to ignore, leaving us helpless, hungry and crying in frustration. Jesus tells us “Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3). If you feel lonely, afraid, angry, worried or depressed, consider if you have let God lead you to trust Him. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Psa22v9-11, http://bit.ly/Mat18v3 (Craig B)
