Every day the first thing I do when I get up is open the door to the garden to breathe in the fresh morning air. Every time I do this the same greeting party awaits me—the worker bees who have already been up since first light pollinating the flowers. They work as long as there is light and then, at the end of the day, just before dusk, they return to their hive. This level of work ethic is one we can all aspire to have, as these bees serve all day to benefit one another and the family they belong to. The Bible speaks on this kind of work in Proverbs 12:11 which states, “Whoever works his land will have plenty of bread, but he who follows worthless pursuits lacks sense.” The bees work to provide “plenty of bread” for their hive so that they may prosper together, while those who do not make use of the day lack sense and purpose. Just like the bees, we were built to work, so go out today and make use of every bit of light you can, for your hive is your family, and your hard work will also provide them with plenty of bread through the will of God.
