This verse raises an important question – “Jesus entered a house and did not want anyone to know it; yet he could not keep his presence secret” (Mark 7:24). Jesus was such a presence that even though he often told people not to speak of what he had done, the impact was too great. Word spread, and crowds came. On this occasion, as soon as he entered the house, those in need found him. And in his amazing and endless compassion, he healed and brought hope. But here’s the deeper question – what happens when Jesus comes into your house? “If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me.” (Revelation 3:20). If Jesus is living in you, then surely the same thing should happen – his presence cannot be hidden. If the living presence of Jesus truly fills your life, is it overflowing in a way others can’t help but notice? Are love, joy, and peace radiating from within? “I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.” (Galatians 2:20). If Jesus lives in you, then ask yourself, can I keep Him a secret? Or is The Word out?
