Roof Top Tents are an amazing invention for camping. When out in the wilds, you are perched high and away from the dust, slithering critters, hungry lions and other beasts. However, while being perched up high is great, there is also an issue – you are more exposed to the onslaught of the elements. Recently, camping in our rooftop tent, the elements went crazy, with rain lashing down and the wind smashing into us. While we can withstand the rain, if the wind gets too strong, it could rip the tent which could leave us with an open-air rooftop bed. As gusts smashed into us, slapping the tent furiously, I lay awake anxiously awaiting the tearing sound. However, after a while, I realised that God is in the wind. He is the controller of all things. “When he thunders, the waters in the heavens roar; he makes clouds rise from the ends of the earth. He sends lightning with the rain and brings out the wind from his storehouses.” (Jeremiah 51:16). He controls everything. And so, in peace I went to sleep knowing it’s God’s wind and it can only do what he commands. And so, too, with the storms of life. God is in our storms. Be at peace.
