Psalm 91:1 says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” A shelter provides safety from storms or enemies, and God offers a secret place in His arms, protecting us from the chaos around us. There is no safer place than the shelter of the Most High! To dwell in His shadow is a present-tense action—it requires a conscious choice to stay close to Him. Dwelling means taking permanent residence; it’s not a fleeting visit but a steadfast commitment to live in His presence. Trusting the love, wisdom, and power of God to protect and guide you comes through a relationship with Jesus. By reaching out to the One who loves and cares for us, and by investing time in talking to Him, listening, and reading His Word, we find our strength, peace, and safety in Him.
