Follow through

Follow through

Did you know that Abraham’s journey to Canaan actually began with his father, Terah? Terah started the journey, and without him, it may never have happened. But we don’t hear much about Terah in Genesis. Why? Because although he started the trip, he didn’t follow through—he stopped in Harran. It was Abraham who answered God’s call and completed the journey to Canaan, and in doing so, he was blessed. Abraham’s story teaches us the importance of following through and fully obeying God’s call. Jesus also followed through, knowing the pain and suffering He would face. “Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will’” (Matthew 26:39). Jesus followed through to the cross so that we could have a relationship with God through Him. Are you prepared to follow through and fully commit your life to God? “Now finish the work, so that your eager willingness to do it may be matched by your completion of it” (2 Corinthians 8:11).
