Carpes of colour

Carpes of colour

The hunt is on. We travelled up the west coast of South Africa to witness the annual flower show. This isn’t in a building but across vast swaths of normally arid land. In early spring a miracle happens as carpets of colour blanket valleys and hills. As we crest the top of another arid mountain an incredible scene appears. The valley below is painted in a kaleidoscope of colour.  From afar it is stunning, but up close it’s even more spectacular. The more you look the more you see, shades and hues, different shapes and sizes, insects buzzing for pollen, birds hopping around. It’s mesmerising. Yet even this is nothing compared to the beauty God has given us in His Word. He has crafted a message of life in stories, poems, prophecies, letters, songs, and wisdom. The more you look the more you see, layers of meaning, treasures revealed, comfort for sorrow, wisdom for life, hope for the future. And most beautiful of all, the Saviour, Jesus. “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever” (Isaiah 40:8). If your life feels barren, step into God’s Word and look deeply and you will discover beauty beyond compare. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Isa40v8
