The voice we know

The voice we know

Did you know babies instinctively turn toward the sound of their mother’s voice from birth? Even in a room full of noise, that one voice cuts through. It’s not something they’re taught—it’s something they already know. Studies show newborns recognise and prefer their mother’s voice because they’ve heard it for months in the womb. Often, when my husband is holding our baby and the baby starts to cry, I can settle him just by speaking, even from another room. Jesus said, “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me” (John 10:27). We aren’t spiritual orphans, trying to guess our way to God. His voice is familiar. Built into the deepest part of us is a spiritual instinct to hear and follow the One who formed us. It’s not always loud. Sometimes it’s just a whisper in the soul. But it’s there. And it calls us home. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Joh10v27 (Sarah J).
