Pop culture

In a world with hundreds of pop culture franchises, it’s all about which one you’re a fan of the most. Maybe you’re a Star Wars fan, or perhaps Marvel is your thing. Either way, all of us have something that we’re obsessed with. It’s that show or movie you know every line of or never miss an episode. You’ve consumed it so much you feel like you’ve got a relationship with the characters and know them personally. When you think of the Bible, do you feel the same way? Do you have the same enthusiasm for its stories and characters? Paul warns us of putting earthly things on a pedestal – “Everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord” (Philippians 3:8). Yes, having a fictional world we can escape to is fun. Still, we should never let it replace the reality of God’s eternity. No matter how big a franchise may be, it will never compare to the eternal story of the Bible. Become a super fan of Jesus because his story has been discussed for over 2000 years. Not only can you talk about it, but you can also be part of it – forever. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Phi3v8 (Jean-Luc H)
