“Me life is just ‘oyful”, he said with a downcast look. “Even when tings work oat, it’s ner long befer life is ‘oyful again. What’s missin?” Is this how you sometimes feel? Indeed, what is missing? There is just one letter that will completely change an ‘oyful life into a Joyful life. Only one person can put the J into our lives – Jesus. “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.” (John 15:11). In life, we can pursue many things – careers, families, sports, leisure – and still not find joy. King Solomon, with all his money, tried this. “I denied myself nothing my eyes desired; I refused my heart no pleasure…(but) everything was meaningless, a chasing after the wind;” (Ecclesiastes 2:10-11). Joy will always be incomplete without Jesus. Jesus offers us a gift that no money can buy – his divine joy. A joy like no other. A joy regardless of our circumstances. A joy that never leaves us.
