Like Abba

I was enjoying sitting on a beach chair just chilling and enjoying the day. Our 18-month-old grandson, who had been playing in the sand, came and sat in the empty beach chair next to me. As he sat down he said, leaning back, "Like Gampy". And then proceeded to enjoy his spot. It was so cute to see him mimic what I was doing. It made me think of how much joy it brings our Heavenly Father when we mimic him, and think to ourselves, "Like Abba". "See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" (1 John 3:1). We have been called into a special Father-child relationship with Almighty God. This is an incredible blessing. All that God asks is that we look to him for our examples – not to social media or those around us. "Follow God's example, therefore, as dearly loved children" (Ephesians 5:1).
