Recently at the beach we noticed a small tidal pool cut off from the sea. It was full of fish, and someone had thrown some mussels in, providing food. Yet one large fish guarded the mussels fiercely, chasing away any others that came near. This “resource guarding” isn’t just seen in animals, it’s in us too. We often view life through a scarcity lens, believing there isn’t enough, so we hold tightly to what we have. But some live with an abundance mindset, always willing to share, no matter how little they have. A powerful example is found outside the temple in Jerusalem. As the rich gave large sums, “a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins… Jesus said, ‘Truly I tell you, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything – all she had to live on’” (Mark 12:41-44). That is abundant living – sharing even when we have little, trusting that God’s eternal reward is far greater than anything we could keep. We all have scarcity – money, time, energy. How is God calling you to live abundantly today? (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/mar12v41-44
