What battles are you fighting right now? Lack of purpose, fear of rejection, losing a loved one, worries about the future, relationship struggles, health concerns, financial burdens – the list is endless. Some battles feel so overwhelming they leave us with sleepless nights, fear, and anxiety. King Hezekiah faced the same when Sennacherib and his mighty Assyrian army of 185,000 came to destroy Jerusalem and God’s temple. They had already crushed nations and cities. The odds were impossible. Yet Hezekiah declared to his people: “‘He may have a great army, but they are merely men. We have the Lord our God to help us and to fight our battles for us!’ Hezekiah’s words greatly encouraged the people” (2 Chronicles 32:8). God Himself destroyed the Assyrian army without human help. Today, instead of carrying your battles alone, surrender them to God. We have a powerful and loving God who fights for us. Let these words encourage you today.
