Chatting to a friend’s daughter, she declared, “I wouldn’t be seen dead in skinny jeans! I’ve thrown them out. The trend is wide-leg or boyfriend jeans. Although,” she admitted “, I do prefer my skinny jeans”. I remember her just a few months ago wearing only skinny jeans and how she loved them! Sadly, she is swayed by the expectations of people she doesn’t even know instead of wearing what she likes and feels comfortable in. Our world is fickle and chops and changes in its thinking, like the waves of the sea. Everything from how you should raise your children to what you should wear changes. Only God’s Word is true and never changes. ”But the word of the Lord remains forever. And this word is the good news that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:25). Take your advice and guidance for your life from God’s word. God’s guidance is solid and trustworthy because God loves you, unlike the trends and advice of the world, which are based on profits, status, and greed. You have a choice; listen to God’s everlasting word of truth and love to direct your life, or follow the whimsical thoughts and trends of the world that will pass and never give you a peaceful, joyful life of contentment. “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever”(Hebrews 13:8).
