Recently we returned to our house and noticed that the plants were all wilted. They looked very sad, obviously from lack of water. It wasn’t long after watering them that they lifted their leaves and looked happy again. Sometimes in life we too can begin to wilt. It could be from the harsh burning of multiple worries or from life’s incessant demands. It may seem impossible to have any joy or peace in our lives. Yet there are amazing people we know, who despite the trials of life, always somehow exude love and joy and peace. How is that possible? It’s not their resolve that’s better than ours, it’s the divine refreshing that they receive in their lives. “For I will pour out water to quench your thirst and to irrigate your parched fields. And I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants, and my blessing on your children” (Isaiah 44:3). If your life is feeling dry and wilted, ask God for his refreshing Spirit, and know that, “The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring” (Isaiah 58:11). Open Bible – http://bit.ly/Isa44v3, http://bit.ly/Isa44v3 (Craig B)
