True fellowship

True fellowship

We’re spending the weekend away with our church friends – 60 of us together in one place. We’ll eat, read the Bible, listen to studies, discuss, pray, and enjoy each other’s company. There will be laughter, I’m sure. We call this fellowship. But what does that really mean? In Acts 2:42 we read that the believers “devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”. The word used is koinōnia, which goes deeper than just spending time together. It means partnership, oneness, communion, bonding, even cleaving, like in marriage. It’s a deep, intimate relationship between individuals. In this family in Christ, we find sanctuary, safety, and salvation. And the lynchpin that holds it all together is love. So shall we show this love to our family this weekend. “The peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep [fellowship] our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:7). Today, consider who you can connect with to enjoy the beauty and love of fellowship. (Helen M) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/act2v42, https://bit.ly/phi4v7
