Too simple?

Too simple?

To be part of God’s family, a disciple must fast for 40 days, climb a mountain, and live outdoors for a month. Actually, this isn’t true. It’s much more difficult than this. Not because it’s hard to do, but because it’s so simple. Naaman, who was a really important commander in the Syrian army, went to Elisha, the prophet, to be healed of leprosy. He was expecting to be asked to do some great thing. But Elisha simply sent a message saying he must go wash in the Jordan and he will be healed. Naaman was angry until a servant said – “My father, if the prophet had told you to do some great thing, would you not have done it? How much more, then, when he tells you, ‘Wash and be cleansed’!” (2 Kings 5:13). Thankfully he listened and was healed. God does not require difficult acts like fasting or climbing mountains for us to be part of his family. Jesus said, “Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16). It’s as simple as that. It’s so simple, in fact, that many won’t do it. God’s offer of salvation is not about what we do, but what Jesus has already done. All we need to do is believe, wash and be clean. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Mar16v16, https://bit.ly/2Ki5v13
