The price of greed

The price of greed

We live in a world full of corruption, where so many, devoid of any moral compass, simply take. We’ve seen people handed massive government contracts illegally, only to flaunt their wealth in lavish excess. Yet despite their opulence, it’s clear they are not content. There’s always someone richer, flashier, more admired. It becomes an endless chasm of striving for more ill-gotten gain, hoping it will bring satisfaction. But thousands of years ago, God made the warning plain: “Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain; it takes away the life of those who get it.” (Proverbs 1:19). Selfish living not only robs others, it robs the one doing it. It promises happiness but delivers emptiness. Real joy doesn’t come from what you get but from how you give. The only way to truly live is to think about others more than yourself. Jesus taught this and lived this. When you lift someone else up, you find your soul lifted too. Consider today: whose life can you improve? A small act of kindness, generosity, or support can ripple further than you imagine—and in the process, your own life will grow richer, in ways no money could ever buy.
