The phone call

The phone call

I’m sure you know people like this – those who only call when they want something from you. When you see them calling, you are tempted not to answer. It will never be about what they can do for you or calling to say thanks. No one likes friends or family like this. But, are you like this? “No way,” you reply. “But I know people like this.” God has given us a wonderful gift. He has made us part of His family. He has given us prayer for us to talk to him. What are your prayers about? Just a list of what you want? Or do you call Him to give him thanks? Or just to chat about your day? “Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people” (Ephesians 6:18). God wants to hear our requests and calls for help. But, if he is really our family and someone we love, he also wants to listen to all other kinds of prayers. Thanks. Praise. Or even just to chat. That’s what true friends and family do.
