Stop! Don’t stop!

Stop! Don’t stop!

When I run alone, I walk more than I should. Not because I can’t keep going, but because it’s easy to stop when no one’s watching. A slight ache, a moment of fatigue, a random thought—and suddenly I’ve slowed down, telling myself I’ll pick up the pace later. But when I run with someone beside me, especially someone who keeps pace, something changes. I don’t stop. I push harder. Not because I’m stronger, but because I’ve got someone beside me who doesn’t give me space to make excuses. That’s how it works with faith, too. When you walk alone, the smallest discomfort becomes a reason to stop. You’re tired—so prayer waits. You’re distracted—so Scripture gets skipped. You’re discouraged—so compromise slides in. And because no one sees it, you let it happen. But when you walk with others who are running toward the same goal—who won’t let you slow down just because you feel like it—everything shifts. Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds…encouraging one another.” You don’t need more willpower. You need people who won’t buy your excuses. So stop ! Stop “running” alone. Message someone today—ask them to “run” life’s race with you, to check in, to call you out. You were never meant to do this by yourself.
