Smaller Than You Think

Smaller Than You Think

We recently went to Kruger, and one of my favourite things about guided game drives is learning about the animals and nature that often go unnoticed. On this particular drive, we stopped at a huge termite mound. We learnt how these tiny, rice-sized creatures build a special fungus garden inside their nest so that during winter they have food without needing to leave. “Ants are creatures of little strength, yet they store up their food in the summer” (Proverbs 30:25). It was incredible to see the detail and design behind something so small. It left me in awe of God's creation. If God put that much thought and care into tiny termites that most people never even notice, imagine how much care He has put into you. Jesus reminds us in Matthew 10:29-31 that not even a sparrow falls to the ground outside of the Father's care. If God cares so deeply for even the smallest parts of His creation, how much more does He care for us, whom He created in His image? Sometimes we can feel forgotten or insignificant, but creation reminds us that our God is a God of incredible detail. Nothing He made was an accident, and neither are you. (Hannah B).
