While visiting Kruger Park we noticed that most of the camps have a few resident buck. These fellas are really clever. They have managed to get into the camp and are now safe from predators. They have access to plenty of food and water and they wander around looking very relaxed. It made me wonder why other buck don’t also upgrade and enjoy the good life. On reflection I realised it’s not too dissimilar to the offer God makes us. We live in a world filled with dangers. Filled with predators that are seeking to kill us. Whether it be disease, or crime, or finances or relationships. The world is full of dangers. Dangers to our physical and mental well-being. Yet we also have a safe place to live. “The name of the LORD is a strong fortress; the godly run to him and are safe” (Proverbs 18:10). God offers us a place of refuge. A place of peace. While the predators roam around, God provides a refuge for our hearts and minds. Yet, many choose not to run to Him. Where will you make your home? Where will you find your peace and safety?
