Rejection is never easy. Most of us have felt the sting and humiliation it brings. Rejection eats away at our mental wellbeing, whispering lies like, I’m not good enough. I’m not special. I’m a failure. But here’s the good news—God seeks the rejected. “The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes” (Psalm 118:22–23). Why is this so marvelous? The cornerstone, once deemed unworthy, becomes the key to ensuring the house rises straight and true. Perfection was required, but God changed the rules. Out of imperfection comes perfection. Out of law comes grace. Out of rejection comes acceptance. Out of pain comes love. What a marvellous hope to carry into the year ahead!
