What is it about humans that we love to be right? We are proud of our point of view, proud of our correct knowledge and understanding. Yet is this the way our Heavenly Father wants us to think and behave? Is this the type of heart and mind that draws us closer to Him or to our neighbour whom he asks us to love and serve? In Psalms we read – “God guides the humble in what is right and teaches them his way” (Psalm 25:9). When we approach our God, friends, family, and work colleagues with a humble heart, we have the assurance, from our Heavenly Father that He will guide us in what is right and teach us His way. When we are proud and full of our own opinions we don’t leave space for God to act or move in our heart and minds. In Proverbs we are warned – “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom” (Proverbs 11:2).
