If you are anything like me, you will at some stage, or may even still believe that God’s commandments were given by God to please Him. They were not given for our pleasure. Rather, they are difficult to keep but essential to follow if we want to be part of God’s kingdom. Psalm 19:7-8 tells us a different story. “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.” God’s laws are perfect, sure, right, and pure. God gave us His laws and commandments to;
• Convert our soul
• Make wise the simple
• Let us experience rejoicing in our heart
• Enlighten our eyes.
