No limits

No limits

Jeep’s slogan is “live without limits”. While this sounds like fun for those seeking adventures, it’s a disaster as a life slogan. Our world is increasingly adopting this slogan. People can behave in any way they want. Define themselves in any way they want. Indulge in anything they want. But it’s not new. Thousands of years ago, people tried this. “At that time there was no king in Israel. People did whatever they felt like doing.” (Judges 21:25). We lose our limits when we lose our King. And the result? A society falling apart. No real love. No joy. Why should this be the case when there are no limits?  It’s because God designed us to only find true love, joy, and peace within boundaries. From the beginning, God set limits. He set aside Eden for Adam and Eve. And within Eden, he set aside a garden. And within the garden, he demarcated go and no-go zones. If you truly want to find joy in your life, come to the King and live within his boundary lines. “The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.” (Psalms 16:6).
