We go to school and university and study for many years. What’s the purpose? It’s so we can get knowledge that we can do something with, such as pursuing a career. So, what’s the purpose of reading God’s word and developing a knowledge and insight about Him and His ways? What’s the outcome meant to be? Paul tells us – “This is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight” (Philippians 1:9). The reason we want to know more about God is so we can love more like God. Our knowledge isn’t shown in what we know but in what we show and whom we show. Are you showing God’s love the more you get to know Him?
