No power

No power

When the power goes off for a short time, it is an inconvenience. But if you lose power for days, everything changes. Freezers defrost, and food spoils. Cell phone towers stop operating, and communication is cut off. ATMs don’t work to get cash, and supermarkets can’t accept credit cards. Petrol pumps don’t operate. Water filtration plants don’t work correctly, compromising water quality. Conditions soon become desperate, and it’s hard to survive. It’s no different when we are disconnected from God, our spiritual power. For a short period, we might not notice anything. But when we lose our connection with our divine source of power for an extended period, life changes. Everything begins to go wrong. Relationships. Our outlook. Our mood. Our hopes. Before we know it, we are desperate, and it’s hard to survive. Stay connected to God. “His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness” (2 Peter 1:3). And, “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 15:13).
