The stones will cry out

Have you ever had some really good news that you were bursting to share? Just before his crucifixion, Jesus did a dress rehearsal entry to Jerusalem. Seated on a humble donkey, Jesus gave a taste of the joy that will flood the world when he returns as king of the world. “When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: “Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!”Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”“I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.” (Luke 19:37-40). The joy was so great that even the stones were straining with desire to celebrate. Incredible! And this is nothing compared to the joy coming when Jesus returns. “And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness, And sorrow and sighing shall flee away.” (Isaiah 35:10). Now, this is really good news that we should be bursting to share.
