I have noticed something interesting with my 5-month-old grandson. He is fixated with looking up at lights. Few things captivate him like a light. A light above can calm him and fill him with wonder and joy. It seems this instinctive desire, coded in him, should be teaching us an important lesson. When we are worried or frustrated, what brings us peace and joy? Is it the flickering light of social media or Netflix? Or the glittering lights of shopping? None of these bring true peace or joy. Coded into all of us is a desire to seek The Light. The true Light. “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life’” (John 8:12). Jesus is not only a light who brings understanding and meaning to life, He brings peace and joy. “We now have this light shining in our hearts” (2 Corinthians 4:7). Today, if you are sad, worried, or confused, don’t despair. Look up. Look to the light. Look to Jesus. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/joh8v12, https://bit.ly/2Co4v7-8 (Craig B)
