Let God in

Let God in

Cabin fever is defined as irritability resulting from long confinement or isolation indoors. This feeling is due to feeling constricted and not being able to live the way you want to. I feel that sometimes we spiritually give ourselves cabin fever by bottling all the feelings of frustration in our lives inside us instead of giving them to God. We lock fear deep inside of us instead of bringing it into the light for God to absorb in his amazing grace. The ironic thing about bottling up this emotion is that it’s countered with the most used phrase in the entire Bible, “fear not”. An amazing example of this can be seen in Isaiah 41:10 which reads, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Sometimes in life we think we are all alone in the cabin with no means of getting out, but God is in there with us—all we need do is talk with Him to get through it. The next time you’re feeling spiritually isolated, remember that God is already with you. We need to simply open our eyes and experience his offer of abundant life (John 10:10).
