Let go before sunset

Let go before sunset

Sometimes in life, frustration can lead to anger. It’s such a hard emotion to avoid that, at some point, we are inevitably going to experience it. It can come from seeing a bad driver on the road or from a tough day at work, which leaves us suddenly angry and upset. I sometimes feel guilty about this as I know it’s not a Godly trait, but then I remember that I’m human and I’m not perfect. However, while we might get angry, whether justified or not justified we are commanded not to hold on to that anger and let it consume us. “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold” (Ephesians 4:26–27). Whilst it’s normal to feel human emotions, we are instructed to swiftly let go of our anger, as holding onto it can lead to sin and harm our relationships. While it may be difficult, remember that we don’t do this alone, because “Jesus Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14). Through Him, we can find the strength to release anger and embrace calm and replace our feelings with forgiveness and resolution. For it is much greater to start a new day fresh than to be holding on to yesterday’s feelings of frustration. Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Eph4v26-27, https://bit.ly/Eph2v14 (Jean-Luc H)
