Kingdom Ambassador

You cannot be an ambassador for a country you have never experienced. Paul makes an extraordinary claim: "We are Christ's ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us." (2 Corinthians 5:20). An ambassador lives in one country but belongs to another – representing their leader, carrying his authority, and revealing something of their homeland to people who may never have been there. We are citizens of God's Kingdom (Ephesians 2:19). But here is the uncomfortable question: if people encountered God's Kingdom only through you, what would they think it was like? When the spies returned from the Promised Land, they didn't merely describe it – they carried back enormous fruit, evidence that this extraordinary country was real and amazing. We are called to do the same. Jesus gives us access to the Kingdom of God, where we discover its treasures: diamonds of love, gold of joy, pearls of peace. Then He sends us into a world that cannot see His Kingdom, carrying evidence that it exists. Every time you love the unloved, forgive the unforgiven, bring peace into conflict, hope into despair, or kindness where none is deserved, you make the unseen Kingdom visible. The world has heard Christians talk about God's Kingdom. Perhaps what it desperately needs now is evidence. So what are you carrying from the Kingdom that someone else can actually see? (Craig B).
