We rent a lovely home in the tranquil village of Franschhoek, South Africa. Our landlord kindly allows us to list it on Airbnb, giving us valuable opportunities for extra income. However, this often means moving out and finding another place to stay while guests enjoy our cottage. Today, while staying nearby, I saw guests sitting outside in the sun. What struck me was how I didn’t think of it as our home but simply as a cottage with guests. There was a disconnect, as if it didn’t belong to us. Yet, I don’t feel this way about other possessions—I see them as mine: my car, my phone, my shoes. But we should realize that everything we have comes from God. As David said, “Everything comes from you” (1 Chronicles 29:14). These things are not truly ours. Jesus also warned us, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions” (Luke 12:15). Today, how will you use what God has given you to bless others? It’s not mine
