I stand atop Mount Year, looking back upon the path I have walked. I see the dark valleys and challenging climbs, but I also see the sunny fields and the flowers along the way. I remember some who walked alongside me on this path who are no longer here. I remember the joys and the pains. The ups and the downs. It is ended. Yet it is not finished. Ahead lies another mountain, another journey, another year. These are the mountains and journeys of life. Yet, God leaves us a promise. A promise he made to a king many years ago that is for all his children he calls by name – “I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron” (Isaiah 45:2). We will never walk alone. Our God walks ahead to prepare our way and alongside to give us his peace. As I look up, I hear him say, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” (Revelation 22:13). Whatever lies ahead, God is there. Whatever lies ahead, God is here. Thank you, Lord for walking with me. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/isa45v2, http://bit.ly/Rev22v13
