It was my first ever book hunt. In our local botanical gardens, while the kids had an Easter egg hunt, the adults had a book hunt. After the signal was given we were set free in a section of the garden to find the hidden books. When I spotted one up a tree, I grabbed it. It felt so exciting to find the book. Soon others were whooping with excitement as they found books too. After a while a happy group gathered, proudly showing the books they had found. What struck me was how happy everyone was, there was a thrill in the search and the reward. It’s no different with God’s kingdom. Jesus tells this story: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field” (Matthew 13:44). The message of the Kingdom is a treasure that must be sought because it is hidden from the wise (Matthew 11:25). It is our privilege to seek it in humility. “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter; to search out a matter is the glory of kings.” (Proverbs 25:2). Seek God and His kingdom and you will find it, and with it a joy beyond comprehension. (Craig B) Open Bible – https://bit.ly/Mat13v44, bit.ly/Mat11v25, https://bit.ly/pro25v2
